Mailboxes & IMAP

Connect a mailbox and check which profiles it covers.

The IMAP page connects mailboxes used by your profiles. IMAP is a way for the service to access email. Microsoft mailboxes use a Microsoft authorization flow instead of an app password.

Check mailbox coverage

Start with Mailbox coverage to see which profile emails are covered. A profile uses its retailer-account email when it has one; guest checkout and Cloud1 use the identity email instead. Connect each unique mailbox once; exact email matches are linked automatically. Amazon also requires its authenticator key—see Amazon setup—but that does not replace mailbox coverage.

Connect your mailbox

  1. Enter the mailbox email on the IMAP page.
  2. Follow the provider instructions shown for that address.
  3. For providers using app passwords, enter an app-specific password and choose Test and connect inbox. Use the provider's displayed guidance for the server settings if a custom host is needed.
  4. For Microsoft, select Connect with Microsoft, authorize the matching account, and return to the dashboard.
  5. Check the success message and the mailbox's health status.

For Gmail and Google Workspace, the form asks for a Google app password rather than your normal password. If your provider or organization does not allow the requested access, ask staff for help before continuing.

A catch-all receives mail for several addresses on your own domain. Connecting the destination mailbox alone does not cover every profile on that domain.

  1. Find the connected mailbox and enter its Catch-all domain.
  2. Select the matching profiles it should cover.
  3. Choose Save linked profiles.
  4. Recheck mailbox coverage for those profiles.

You must explicitly select the profiles. Matching the domain alone does not make a profile ready.

Refresh or reconnect

Use Sync now to request a mailbox sync and read the resulting status. ACO discovers the provider's Inbox, Junk/Spam, All Mail, and Archive folders and scans the smallest non-duplicative set. On providers without All Mail, custom folders clearly named for Amazon, Target, orders, purchases, receipts, shopping, or ACO are also scanned. Sent, Drafts, Trash, and Deleted Items are not scanned. If a saved app password no longer works, enter the mailbox email again and use Test and replace password. For Microsoft, use Reconnect Microsoft when authorization needs renewing.

If Microsoft reports the wrong account, reconnect with the same email you entered. If the message says connections are not configured on the server, contact staff.

Disconnect a mailbox

Disconnect removes its saved credential and catch-all links after confirmation. Profiles depending on that mailbox may need it reconnected before they are ready again.

Amazon cancellation and Target order parsing are currently enabled. Do not assume every retailer's emails will create or update a checkout; check Checkouts and contact staff about missing results.
